A still photographer for over 250 films in a career of 35 years working for the bigwigs’ films of Dr Vishnuvardhana, Dr Ambarish, Darshan, Tiger Prabhakar and others – Still Jai Dev has become still.

Jai Dev succumbed to heart attack today evening at Mysore leaving his wife, son and daughter. Aged 60 Jai Dev went to Mysore to take look at the model houses that is meant for technicians of Kannada cinema industry from Dr Ambarish ministry of Housing. He was accompanied by Pai and Shekar Wali. After visiting the models around 5 pm he fell down. Pai and Wali took him to Kamakshi Hospital. He was declared dead by the doctors.

Pai an accompanied colleague of Jai Dev also fell unconscious out of shock. He is given treatment at the same hospital.

Jai Dev is a quiet and workaholic person. He had initial training in the camp of Sundarnath Suvarana and JG Krishna. His last cinema work is for ‘Ambarisha’

The cremation of Jai Dev takes place on Sunday at TR Mill crematorium. May his soul rest in peace!
